I design things. For money. And for meaning.
Hi, I’m Bec. I run Spooner Studio.
It's just me, my laptop, and way too many Figma tabs. I design websites, digital tools, and fix stuff that feels clunky, broken, or weirdly hard to use.
I care about accessibility, clean handoffs, and not wasting anyone’s time. I’ve worked across health, education, software, and not-for-profits. I’ve always been more interested in how things work than how they look. I live in Elwood, drink an unreasonable amount of strawberry matcha, and spend a lot of time thinking about systems, both in design and in whatever strategy game I’m currently obsessed with.

Projects I’ve worked on,
sweated over, and made better.

the process
Ideation
We start by asking questions. What’s working? What’s not? What do you wish people actually did on your site? This part is messy in a good way.
Concept Development
Once I’ve got a handle on your goals, I explore ideas that make sense for your users. Not just pretty screens; stuff that solves real problems.
Prototyping
You’ll see it come to life with interactive prototypes, easy to click through and test. We tweak things here, before it gets too real.
Execution
I finalise the designs and make sure the final product matches the intent. If you need, I can stick around for QA and feedback support too.
